Apple’s iPhone 15 models are making waves in India, thanks to their assembly in the country, which has played a pivotal role in offering competitive pricing. The company is now gearing up for the next phase of production, with reports indicating that the iPhone 15 Plus will be assembled in India in the upcoming quarter.

Apple has been increasingly reliant on India for the production of its latest iPhone models, particularly focusing on its flagship iPhones. While this move was anticipated to result in more affordable iPhones for Indian consumers, the reality is slightly more complex. The price reduction is contingent on the availability of locally sourced components and the local manufacturing of the models from scratch.

Notably, Apple has collaborated with various vendors for iPhone production in India, allowing the company to distribute iPhones not only within India but also to major markets like the United States, Europe, and China.

According to a report from ET, the assembly of the Apple iPhone 15 Plus in India is scheduled to take place between October and December, just around the corner. The company is expected to utilize its Tamil Nadu unit for the production of this model. Pre-orders for the Apple iPhone 15 series have already commenced this week, with sales set to begin on September 22nd. The iPhone 15 is priced at Rs 79,900, while the iPhone 15 Plus starts at Rs 89,900 for the base variants. Apple Stores are facilitating pre-orders, offering the option for store pick-up or delivery, particularly for the iPhone 15 Pro and the 15 Pro Max.

The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max boast starting prices of Rs 1,34,900 and Rs 1,59,900, respectively. These models introduce several enhancements, including a new camera system, a titanium frame for reduced weight, and USB-C charging, a first for Apple.

Apple has recently discontinued several iPhone models, such as the iPhone 13 mini, marking the end of Apple’s foray into compact-sized phones. While these models are still available in stock, sellers might offer enticing discounts to clear inventory.
