Google’s Double Delight for India: Pixel 8 Series and Pixel Watch 2

Google has shared not one but two good news for consumers in India this week. The company officially shared the teaser for the Pixel 8 series launch in the country, and now it has also given us a positive news on the launch of Pixel Watch 2 in India. That’s right, the second-gen Pixel Watch will be the first Pixel smartwatch to launch in the country.

The official teaser here not only gives a glimpse into the Pixel Watch 2 but also gives us the launch date for the smartwatch in India, and where it will be available.

Google Pixel Watch 2 India Launch Date And Availability

Google Pixel Watch 2 will be globally unveiled at the Pixel 8 series launch event in New York City on October 4. And the Google India teaser suggests that Pixel Watch 2 will be unveiled for the Indian consumers on October 5, which is likely to be midnight in Indian time.

Google continues to rely on Flipkart as its exclusive partner for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro phones. The Pixel Watch 2 will also be available through the platform in the country.

Google Pixel Watch 2 Specifications

The Pixel Watch 2 is expected to launch in both Wi-Fi and LTE variants. The new Pixel Watch is likely to use the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip which should provide longer battery life compared to the first-gen Pixel Watch.

Google could go with a 1.2-inch OLED display this time around and support ultrawide-band (UWB) which provides improved connectivity for the wearable. But all the bets on the Pixel Watch 2 will be thrust on the Wear OS 4.0 version based on Android 13. The new version should deliver better battery life and a host of features that makes the Android smartwatch an appealing option.

Google will hopefully have the Pixel Watch 2 priced in the sub-Rs 30,000 segment, giving the brand a chance to compete with Samsung Galaxy Watch series and Apple Watch Series.
