West Bengal Governor Assumes Role of Interim Vice-Chancellors

In a significant development, West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose, who also serves as the chancellor of state universities, has taken on the responsibility of interim vice-chancellors in universities across the state. This move aims to facilitate the issuance of degree certificates and other essential documents to students. Raj Bhavan officials have confirmed this decision.

Students encountering issues related to their academic records and certificates can now seek assistance through designated channels. They can either send their grievances via email to [email protected] or contact the peace room at 03322001642.

“They can also meet the governor at the Raj Bhavan or during his tours in circuit houses after online registration under the ‘aamnesaamne’ programme. The governor will also pay frequent visits to the universities to meet the students,” a Raj Bhavan official said on Thursday.

New Officiating Vice-Chancellor Appointed

Additionally, in a related development, Raj Kumar Kothari has been appointed as the officiating vice-chancellor of the West Bengal State University, filling the role temporarily. This strategic appointment ensures the continued functioning and leadership in the absence of a full-time vice-chancellor.
